Tomorrow’s green and equitable hospital
Information
About the event
This event brings together international experts from clinical practice, policy, and research to explore how healthcare can become both greener and fairer. Through two sessions—Building a green healthcare system through circularity and climate management and Choosing Wisely as a driver for equality—we’ll examine data-driven and AI-supported solutions, practical sustainability initiatives, and strategies for promoting inclusive, evidence-based care.
Join us to rethink healthcare’s role in creating a healthier, more equitable future.
Event agenda
Climate change is directly impacting public health, increasing heat-related illnesses and worsening chronic conditions like asthma and cardiovascular disease. This drives up the demand for care, leading to higher resource use and emissions—healthcare currently accounts for 4.4% of global net emissions.
How can we break this cycle and build a healthcare system that protects both people and the planet? This panel will explore paths toward sustainable healthcare, highlighting data- and AI-driven solutions, practical initiatives, and innovative ways of working—all aimed at reducing environmental impact and strengthening system resilience.

Achieving equitable health care requires transformative collaboration across institutions, regions, and nations. This panel brings together voices from clinical practice, public institutions, research, and policy—from Sweden and beyond—to explore how we can dismantle structural barriers, promote inclusive systems, and ensure care is accessible, fair, and responsive to diverse needs. With insights from the Choosing Wisely movement, we will also examine how evidence-based, patient-centered decision-making can reduce unnecessary interventions and promote more just and effective care for all.
